The cornerstone of our business is using all-local foods and products whenever possible. Doing so has so many benefits, that it’s hard to imagine how America has gotten so far removed from local foods within its short history.

Buying local foods means that we are supporting local farmers and preserving open land. It also means that we are getting the freshest ingredients possible, picked at their prime ripeness, and blended into our superb ice cream shortly thereafter. Our dairy is as fresh as it gets, and this year, we will be using dairy produced almost exclusively within Rhode Island’s borders.

In addition to supporting local farms and farmers, we purchase as many things from Rhode Island businesses as possible. Our existence strongly supports the Rhode Island economy, supporting businesses we want to support, and keeping dollars flowing within the state.

By purchasing local, we are also cutting down on the pollution created by operating our business. Our products come from local lands, cutting down drastically on the fossil fuels needed to transport these goods from the ground to you. In addition, we are able to use natural products that have not been genetically modified to be able to handle long-distance shipping and maintain minimal bruising. Our ingredients are the best.
